The gearbox coefficient is an important criterion for the design of geared motors. It determines how much mechanical load the gearbox can withstand in relation to the rated power. The level of the mechanical load depends on the degree of shock (mass inertia of the driven machine), the running time and the switching frequency and is described by the operating factor fB.
The gearbox coefficient cG should be selected to be equal to or greater than the service factor fB. The following table provides an overview of various applications and operating factors.
